I'm getting the final details worked out for my South America trip. I'll be leaving on Dec. 21, 2009 and return on March 1, 2010. There's a lot planned. And although email access will be limited, I'll do my best to reply as soon as possible. A few goals for this trip include creating 3 websites for a few different organizations. One for a missionary family, one for a school for poor families, and one for a radio station.
I'll also be doing all the photography and video for these sites, and start the work for a new website that will feature my personal work and photos of interesting people I meet on my travels.
I took these photos of the two kids when I visited Cadereyta, Mexico. The story of Cadereyta was quite a sad. Only the poorest of the poor lived there, and these people were outcast from society.
What happened in Cadereyta was that the poor people of the city of Monterrey, who were living and surviving by a dirty river, got relocated by the government to a remote area in the desert now known as Cadereyta. Basically kicked out of the city to live far removed from society. When I visited, I couldn't imagine living in such a place. The people though, were friendly and kind. That's the intriguing thing about people, no matter what condition they may be in, they can still be fun, kind, and even happy. I'm sure I'll find similar places and people in South America.
