About Josef
Josef began his photographic career in March 2008. He not only enjoys working with the best clients one could ask for, but is also blessed to be able to share such an important event in their lives. With this responsibility in mind, he aims for excellence in all the areas of his business.
In late March of 2009, Josef founded a non-profit organization called The X/Stop Project. This project aims to provide local photographers with opportunities to get involved in the community as well as provide a learning atmosphere where photographers can network and share referrals. Outside of wedding photography, Josef enjoys playing classical guitar, designing and creating websites, and designing and building remote control airplanes.
Approach and Philosophy
The following three categories really determine how we approach every wedding. After a lot of thinking, we came to these conclusions: Candid moments are very important and there must be a focus to capture the essence and feeling of the wedding. So for every wedding, we look for these moments and try to document them as best that we can. The Candids gallery features these photo-journalistic photographs specifically. Another important category is the portraits. Family portraits document the new families, the new unions, and the new couple. The Portraits gallery features these more formal and not-so-formal types of portraits. The last category we feel really completes the picture is capturing everything that makes a wedding celebration unique, that is, the details. There is so much planning that goes into a wedding: the dress, the cake, the flowers, the shoes, the table decorations, etc. and it's these little details that make a wedding stand out from other family events. Finally, the Engagements gallery features pictures of a couple outside the wedding in everyday life. A lot of clients will use the photos from their engagement session for their wedding invitations, gifts, slideshows, and guest books.
In conclusion, we feel that a good balance of candids, formals, and details are the kinds of photos that will give our clients an excellent variety of photos of their wedding day.
Location and Travel
We are currently located in South Bend, Indiana, and have frequently photographed weddings at the Notre Dame Basilica. Our assignments have taken us across the United States as well as other countries. We have traveled to and are familiar with Italy, France, Austria, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Peru, Hawaii, and others. And of course, passports are always up to date.
