Photographing Fireworks

I always like a challenge and photographing fireworks can be challenging. The standard, common fireworks photo isn’t so hard to achieve, but the more creative and interesting approach is much more difficult. For one, I only see fireworks once a year really so there’s not a lot of practice to be had. And the ones I see aren’t even the biggest shows around. In any case, it’s always fun to try to guess where the firework will explode since it’s always dark and there’s not way to really predict where the next firework will explode. That’s the fun part, all of the calculating, focusing, settings and adjustments have to be done instantaneously. And you only get 10 minutes or so, time to get on your game!
